About this item
A reclaimed stripped pine four panel door, likely to date to C.1900. The door is solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints and is suitable for internal use. The door has a traditional appearance with four panels, two larger over two smaller, with the top two panels for you to glaze to suit. The bottom panels are recessed and have decorative mouldings around them. The pine has been stripped on one face and has an old varnish on the other.
The door is in reclaimed condition with some signs of age and some damage as expected. There are some knocks, surface splits, splinters and chips. The edges have some damage in places where the door has been knocked. There are some holes, marks and light damage from hardware removal and one hole has been patch repaired. The glazing bead has some small holes left from nails. The bottom panels have some very slight gaps where the mouldings meet the door. The surface has some marks, scratches and wear and you may wish to sand and re-finish the door to suit. The hinge slots can be seen when looking at the back face of the door. The door height and width may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is of a good size and has a nice period design, ideal for adding character to a home.
