DI0881 RECLAIMED 6 PANEL PITCH PINE INTERNAL DOOR C.1930s

A very attractive, reclaimed, pitch pine door suitable for internal use. The door is very heavy and well made and is in the Georgian revival style and dates to C.1930. The door has six recessed panels with mouldings and the panels are made of a pitch pine veneer with a striking scrolling wood grain, laid over what we believe to be ply. The door has had a high shine varnished finish that highlights the wood grain and the deep colour of the pitch pine, however the varnish has flaking, chipping and wear and you may wish to sand and re-finish the door to suit. The door is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of wear and some damage, as expected. The door has some holes and marks from hardware removal and there are some shadows left from finger plates and a kick plate. There are some small holes left from the screws that held the fixing plate. The door has some knocks, notches and chips, especially to the edges and sides. One of the base edges has had a knock and has sustained some damage. The door has some holes drilled into the outer edges. The varnished finish has some flaking and wear and there are some scratches and marks. There is a lock plate but the barrel has been removed and the hole has had white filler applied. The door height may need some levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a very nice item with the very unusual and attractive grain of the veneer panels, making the door an ideal show piece for the home.
