    About this item

This is a nice example of a Georgian gold gilded posy ring, dating to the 18th century. It is engraved on the inside of the band in italics. The inscription is hard to read but appears "Loue to be Loued" (Love to be loved). Traces of the original gold gilding remain. Such rings were popular as wedding or marriage rings.
