This is an ancient Roman silver denarius of emperor Septimius Severus, minted in Rome between 197 - 198 AD.
Obverse: L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP X "Lucius Septimius Severus Pertinax, emperor (Augustus), supreme commander (Imperator) for the tenth time." laureate head right.
Reverse: ANNONAE AVGG, "The grain supply of the emperors (Augusti)" Annona, draped, standing left, right foot set on prow, holding corn-ears in right hand and cornucopiae in left hand.
