About this item
Creswick Boydell was born James Joseph Boydell in Leigh, Lancashire. His father John Boydell was a landscape painter. He exhibited work at the Walker Art Gallery, Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists and at the Royal Cambrian Academy where he was an Associate member. He was also a member of the Liver Sketching Club during the last decade of the 19th century.
"A Winter's Morning" and "December Snow" are lovely examples of his work. Each measuring 6"x 10", they are mounted into old gilt watercolour swept frames, giving an overall size of 14"x 16". Each picture is signed.
