    About this item

    James William Booth R.Cam.A. was born in Manchester in 1867 and studied art at Manchester under E.M. Bancroft, later becoming a member of the Staithes Group. He is noted for his horse subjects, and living in Scarborough for many years, painted views along the Yorkshire Coast as well as horse fairs, ploughing scenes and quarry scenes. He exhibited prolifically at the Royal Cambrian Academy as well as other Yorkshire Galleries between 1896 and 1935. 

    "The Haycart" is an oil painting on canvas measuring 14"x 20". It is signed lower right and is framed giving an overall size of 18"x 24".
