    Russian silver sugar bowl of the late 19th century with gilding and niello. Engraved views of the Kremlin in oval vignettes. Decor with ivy motif. Hallmark Russian silver 84, Moscow, 1891, hallmark of Cyrillic craftsman Sazikov and the Imperial Eagle. In 1793, Sazikov moved with his family to Moscow, where he was a student of his father. After his father&39;s death in 1830, he inherited his workshop and opened a factory in St. Petersburg and a vocational school for eighty gold and silversmiths. In 1846, the company received the Imperial Eagle from Tsar Nicholas I, becoming the official supplier of the court. The firm exhibited at several world exhibitions: at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, Ignatius received a gold medal, and in 1867 he was awarded at the World Exhibition in Paris. After his death, the business passed to his two sons, Pavel and Sergei. In 1887 the company was sold to Khlebnikov. The firm produced mainly cutlery and objects in the neo-Russian style, as well as sculptural and figurative works representing historical themes or genre scenes. Weight: 208gr.
