19th Century Very Rare Spiked Collar

A very rare survivor this mid 19th century heavily spiked iron dog collar with surviving leather clasp and later added lock and key, These collars were used to protect farm and peoples dogs in forest and mountain regions where the likelyhood was high of animal attacks from the likes of Wolves, Bears and Wild Boar. A real piece of history and even though rusty and a bit gnarly it is an incredibly rare survivor and highly collectable.
