About this item
Very large African Benin bronze bust,c1940.It depicts a King (Oba) figure, is well cast in the traditional lost wax method and is heavy at 4.3kg.The decoration is good with fine detailing to the features etc. It has good colour/patina and overall condition is good with no obvious defects. Like most African bronzes it has the usual casting holes etc which are a feature of the lost wax process.
