18s 15J Hamilton pocket watch in a display case c1900

This watch comes in a glass backed case. Going back a 100 years ago, salesmen from the watch companies would visit shops to show the latest models and rather house them in cases, where the back would have to be removed, they used these cases which had a snap on back with a glass back so the dial and movement were visible. Shops and prospective owners, would select the dial, movement and then the case they wanted for their watch.

This watch is working well but has NOT been cleaned or serviced by us plus the winder is stiff

This is an 18s 17J pocket watch made by the Hamilton Watch Co, USA

Movement – an 18s grade 929 movement. A nickel full plate movement with a lever escapement, damascening and is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa” # 97831. The movement is in 95% mint condition – light marks only

Case – the movement comes in a nickel open face display case, which has a snap on back and front. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light marks and scratches. The movement is a hunter model and is fitted in an open face case, hence the reason why the winder is at the 3 position and not the 12 position

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Hamilton” . The dial is in 98% mint condition – a small flake around the lever set.
