About this item
This stunning Art Deco Arm armchair has been painstakingly restored, over many weeks, to return it to its former glory. It has been re-webbed and has fresh cotton felt and FR calico. The wood has been re-finished with traditional polish.
Reupholstered in an exquisite, now discontinued, Hermès, Paris fabric and a sumptuous velvet by Pierre Frey, Paris. The chair has been hand-finished with an Houlès trim; not yet pictured.
This truly unique armchair would be a standout piece in almost any room. An heirloom piece, to be enjoyed from generation to generation. There is also a matching two-seater sofa.
The Art Deco style emerged following the excavation of Egyptian sites. The motifs and designs of unearthed antiquities began to influence furniture, architecture and interior styles of the early 20th century.
