    About this item

A Fabulous J.S Henry of London Arts and Crafts Armchair with design attributed to George Montague Ellwood.

This chair is a rare piece dating to the Arts and Crafts movement (1890-1919). This high backed chair has beautiful sinuous shapes which is very characteristic of the J.S Henry chairs.

Condition commensurate with age and use. Some evidence of wear on the back and frame of the chair also a small loss where the left arm meets the back rest. Reupholstered June 2022 in a period correct Christopher Dresser design Peacock pattern (pattern registered in 1876).
