EA670 Vitra Lounge Chair by Eames

An original Eames Lounge Chair EA670 produced by Vitra, with cream leather upholstery, Chestnut moulded plywood shells and a polished aluminium five-star base. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, the chair has the familiar low reclined profile, separate headrest and back cushion, broad seat and padded arms, all supported by curved timber panels with a warm honey-toned veneer. The contrast between soft leather, exposed plywood edges, and chrome hardware gives the piece its distinctive balance of comfort and engineering.

The rear view shows the layered construction clearly, with two curved plywood back shells held on polished metal supports above the matching seat shell. The leather is finished in a pale neutral tone with visible grain, stitched edging and button detailing to the back cushions. Practical as a reading chair, lounge chair or design-led office seat, it brings together the sculptural form and ergonomic comfort associated with one of the most recognisable 20th-century furniture designs.
