About this item
A Victorian silver double sided inkstand, hallmarked in Birmingham 1871 and made by Horace Woodward & Co. The inkstand is in the Egyptian Revival taste with a cast model of a sphinx forming the lid of the centre box with silver mounted glass ink bottles either side. There is engraved decoration all round and the inkstand is supported by bold winged paw feet. The weight without the bottles is 44 troy ounces.
