    About this item

This is a neat rare chest from the Swat Valley Northern Pakistan. A Dowery chest carried in the bridal procession. Made from a semi-hardwood similar to teak. Intricately carved front, panelled sides and back with a half lift up lid. A lovely honey colour, well worn, all original, one back foot has been repaired ( secured back on ) An alternative to an oak coffer….obviously lighter in colour and would look good in either a period or contemporary home.

A delightful chest and small proportions.

Condition : Certainly weather worn, yet all intact and original. Very stable and just a wonderful chest full of character!
    Materials : Teak
    Origin : Asian
    Manufacture Date : 1800
