About this item
This listing is for a single 1920/30s bedroom chair. The chair dates is a fabulous thing, very pretty. It has a lovely shape which envelops you, being round it sort of wraps round you. The seat is quite deep which allows you to get really comfy. It is newly upholstered in a Clarke & Clarke floral upholstery weight cotton. This is lovely, a pale cool green with pink roses on, it’s just really very pretty. The chair has been newly (professionally) upholstered and care has obviously been taken over the placing of the fabric because the floral design is centrally placed on the seat and other pieces, making it balanced and nice to look at. The chair stands on its original small brass castors which roll quite well, not super smooth, these were designed for movement if necessary rather than for rolling around the floor like in an office chair. The castors are hidden from view mostly - unless you look underneath the chair for some reason. I just love this, it’s so nice, fresh looking and pretty. The chair is in great condition, nice and sturdy with no loose bits or wobbles. The arms and castors are firmly attached. It is quite heavy, it has a solid wood frame and has been reupholstered using traditional upholstery techniques. The design of the chair is also traditional and these bedroom chairs are still comfy today. It is quite low, made for sitting in to put stockings or shoes on easily, and for looking pretty on if that’s still telavent these days. Regardless of that it remains a lovely chair and should last another 100 years if looked after.
The chair measures 66cm wide x 56cm deep front to back x 65cm tall - these are external measurements taken at the largest points. The seat measures 50cm wide x 46cm deep. The seat is 36cn from the floor.
