A Fine 19th Century Solid Oak Stool

A fine 19th century richly patinated solid oak stool, fabulously hand carved and of exceptional quality.  The cushioned  seat of rectangular form is upholstered with a gorgeous hand embroidered tapestry panel depicting a beautiful arrangement of flowers and foliate in delicate hues of blues, yellows, pinks and greens against a cream ground.  Raised over a moulded, serpentine rail with stippling detail and centred foliate motif flanked with scroll detail, supported on elegant tapering cabriole leg with foliate and detailed masque motif on knee, finely hand carved in high relief, terminating on whorl foot.
