This is an antique ship's bulkhead barometer. An English, silvered brass and oak maritime weather instrument, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Distinguished maritime instrument, with fine presentation. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Silvered brass bulkhead case shows clear, bright tones. Dial set behind a quality, thick glass plate with light blue tint
Usefully sized for ease of reading at a glance, with a diameter of 14cm (5.5''). Elegant annotations show the current weather condition, mirrored nicely upon the inner bezel. Diamond turned secondary hand can be set to show the change since the previous day.
Mounted upon a quality oak back plate with fine grain interest. The plate presents dark caramel hues beneath the wax polish finish. Dressed with a pair of mounting loops for ease of hanging.
This is a dashing antique ship's bulkhead barometer, graced with fascinating period maritime appeal. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to mount.
