About this item
An unusual swing balance automaton toy or sky-hook, advertising Janssen International & Billings, possibly a shipping or transportation company. It is made of wrought iron with a pendulum balanced on an iron base. When rocked, the top pendulum swings and the little ship and car move round the edge of the globe. The top part is handpainted with different views of the globe on the two sides, and the company name underneath. It is difficult to know how old this piece is, but it is decorated in 1930s style, and it looks to have some age. The base appears to be newer than the pendulum. This is a fantastic decorative piece.
