About this item
Originally used in vineyards to collect grapes at harvest time, this 19th century galvanised metal grape hod has been decorated and hand painted with a Chateauneuf-du-Pape crest on a green background.
This hod originates from the Bordeaux area, in the region of Gironde in southwest France.
Perfect for weddings and parties, it can be filled with ice and used as a champagne or wine cooler, would make a wonderful log basket or umbrella stand, and using the hooks on the rear which still hold the original leather straps, can be wall hung and used as a vessel for floral displays, or even converted into a wall or floor light.
Manufacture Date : 1800s
