About this item
A fantastic, Victorian, folding, rocking cot. This is such an unusual piece and well ahead of its' time, a cot that you can either fold away or take on your travels. There is part of a small brass plaque attached to the rocker which is stamped 'PROV PATENT'. It is possibly American and it dates from c.1880. Made from mahogany, the end supports are all nicely turned and the hinged slats to the sides allow the cot to fold up so that it is very easily transported or stored. When folded it is 70cm. high by 62cm. wide by only 15 cm. deep but this extends to an amazing 112cm. long. It is in excellent condition.
