About this item
Pair of Decorative Painted Bedside Cabinets with Original Black Marble Tops, c.1900
A charming pair of circa 1900 bedside cabinets, beautifully refinished in a softly distressed painted finish that enhances their elegant architectural detailing and timeless appeal. Retaining their original black marble tops, each with attractive age-related marks and natural patination, they offer a pleasing contrast to the painted bases while reflecting their genuine antique character.
Each cabinet features a single drawer above a cupboard enclosed by a finely panelled door, delicately carved with a stylised foliate motif. Fluted pilasters, carved capitals and turned bun feet lend a refined classical influence, making these both practical and highly decorative pieces.
Wonderfully versatile, they work equally well as bedside cabinets, lamp tables or elegant side cabinets, complementing both traditional and contemporary interiors. A handsome and unusual pair combining practicality, quality craftsmanship and enduring decorative appeal.
