This is a pair of vintage bergère armchairs. A French, beech and cane elbow chair, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.
Delightful lounge chairs with a fine appearance and finish Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Beech frames show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Traditionally stuffed cushions finished in tasteful velvet upholstery with piped edge Comfortable open form, the wide demi-lune back rest with short arms Superb double-layered bergère cane in good, taut order Accentuated with carved grape motif to the apex of the top rail The falling arms terminate in scrolled knuckles, over canted supports Gently rolled sash aprons to each fascia beneath a prominent rolled edge Standing upon delicate cabriole legs with scrolled detail over pad feet
