About this item
A well carved, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is deeply carved with the word “Welcome” opposite a stylised flower. Between these are long leaves and wheat. The carving is nicely detailed and the wood has a lovely, pale, patina. It dates from c.1880. The wear to the carving is minimal but there is a crack to the rim which measures 4.5cm. There is the usual scratching to both the face and the reverse of the board from use.
Dimensions: Diameter 30.3cm. Depth 2.2cm.
