About this item
A 19th century, turned wooden dairy bowl. Wooden bowls of this open form were used in the dairies for working the butter. English examples were usually turned from sycamore but this is turned from beechwood. It is probably French and dates from c.1860. There is some staining to the wood and a small crack to the interior has been filled. Otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 36cm. Height 8cm.
