A fine William IV silver gilt snuff box, Wm Simpson, 1834
An exceptionally fine William IV silver gilt snuff box. The cast top depicts three hounds flushing out a pheasant. There is a beautifully cast thumb piece and surround to the top. The gilding is original and almost unworn with only tiny pieces of silver showing through on the dogs heads. The interior is in an unused original condition with full hallmarks on the base and lid. The 11 part hinge is very tight and the lid closes firmly. Without doubt one of the best and most original cast boxes I have had.
