A George IV hunting scene silver gilt table snuff box, 1829
A beautiful silver gilt table snuff box, made in Birmingham in 1829 by Joseph Wilmore. The cast hunting scene on top is crisp with only minimal wear and loss of gilding. The 17 part hinge is tight and expertly made, it is almost invisible when closed. The inside is also gilded and hallmarked on the base and lid. A truely exceptional silver snuff box.
