About this item
This wax seal impression is housed in a turned lignum vitae box with a diameter of 48 mm (1.75 inches) and a thickness of 12 mm (.5 inch). The oval shaped seal features a shield below a Baron's coronet. The seal is cracked but held together by its backing paper, and the box has been scored on the lid, It would date from around 1830.
