A wooden 'tartan ware' box covered in a decorative pattern in an unidentified tartan plaid (possibly a variant of Buchanan?). The interior of the lid fitted with a mirror, the inside varnished deep red. Fitted with a lock (key deficient).
In her book "Tartanware: Souvenirs from Scotland", Princess Ira Von Furstenberg indicates that "yellow pieces are particularly rare" [1].
