This is an antique domed top caddy. An English, burr walnut and brass keepsake box or dressing table case, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.
Of captivating form and superb decorative appeal Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Delightful figuring to the quality burr walnut stocks Warm caramel hues accentuated with bright brass tones Gracefully domed, the lid decorated with pierced brass mounts Front fascia dressed with a pierced lock escutcheon — in working order, key present Trefoil shaped shield mounts adorn the corners of the fascia Interior lined with cobalt silk cotton to lid, with a foliate pattern internal finishThis is a striking antique domed top caddy, with superb walnut figuring and delightful colour.
