A rare and unusual 19thc turned lidded box, made from Beech....it is beautifully decorated with attractive shapes in the lid and balistraria shaped bars in the main body of the box....theses collectable little boxes were to temporary house insects that you would find on your country walk....first example I have had with no damage and so nicely carved...
