About this item
An unusual dish made at the Jersey Pottery in the 1950s to advertise White's Carpets of Edinburgh. It is decorated with an attractive sgraffito design of a man in a kilt showing off examples of carpets available at White's. These dishes may have been given away as promotional items. It was probably intended to sit on a desk to hold paperclips and to act as a pen tray. The base bears the Jersey Pottery name.
