China Trade hardwood box on stand. There rectangular box with panelled top within framing opening with a lock, key and a pair of paktong strapwork hinges to a now void interior, which would formerly have contained a removable tray, probably with divisions. To the sides a bold pair of folding paktong bale handles with backplates. The stand with four figured veneered sides to D moulding over square tapered legs with pierced scroll corner brackets. All of good colour, patination and condition; the wood is of the rosewood family.
