A Very rare and unusual Edwardian Bent-Wood Drapery Box, made from bentwood by the famous Clements, Newling & Co of London, Clements are famous for making the finest haberdashery display cabinets and shop display, this piece was commissioned for J Milligan & Son Ltd, a high class drapers and milliners once situated in the town of Buxton in Derbyshire.
The Box retains its original leather strap, which also acts as a carrying handle, the inside is lined with the original paper and the makers label is visible on the underside of the lid. Made By Clements, Newling & Co Ltd London, makers of 'Fixtupe' boxes for drapery & allied trades. C1901
The fabulous box is in good original condition for its age, a lovely unusual piece for any collector.
