    About this item

Superb lacquer box (originally part of a larger set) with the arms, crest and motto for LORD SETON of TOUCH  (in Scotland).  The box is in immaculate condition and comes with four matching armorial counters in large size bearing the same arms etc etc.. Lord Seton  is one of very few people who ordered from Canton several top quality sets of counters with different borders; each set was very expensive at the time. Some very rich people would order a top quality set for their main residence and less detailed sets of counters ( i.e. cheaper!) for their other residences. Not Lord Seton. These counters from different sets, one with vine-and-moth and one with geometric borders, are all in the large size, made of thick mother-of-pearl ( the round is 42mm diameter) and all bear the full quarterly arms with supporters, crest and motto. The box and counters date from around 1810.

Insured mailing included in the price shown. The items come with signed Certificate and full details of the heraldry etc..
