A charming sewing accessory in the form of a pug or bulldog head mounted on a turned and ebonised wood base, dating to the mid to late 19th century. The dog's head is made of painted spelter with original glass eyes. The top of the dog's head hinges at the back and opens to reveal a space for a thimble.
The thimble shown is included.
