About this item
A small, two part, brass nougat mould in the shape of a swan. One side of the mould is stamped ’C.H. TROTTIER FABT A. DELAVERNE SuccR 73 RUE MONTMARTRE’ . This is a very comprehensive mark, one that we have not seen before, and the piece dates from c.1880. It is very well moulded, with excellent detail, and it is in excellent condition. Brass moulds of this type were never tinned inside as brass can be used without being tinned. The two parts are held together by two metal clips.
