About this item
A fine example of an early latten "seal-top" spoon from the reign of Elizabeth 1 ....it is decorated in the top of the fig shaped bowl with the initials of the maker IR and a spoon pattern...I have not been able to trace the maker of this unusual mark....the spoon has a pleasing Elizabethan pattern to the underside of the finial and is in very nice condition with a natural colour.
English. C1580 - C1600.
