    About this item

    A small, early 18th century, cast brass, pierced skimmer with a circular end to the handle. This type of skimmer was used in the kitchens, for skimming stocks and preserves, and also in the dairy for skimming cream. This example is cast in one piece. There is a very worn makers mark at the end of the handle near to the skimmer.

    The end of the skimmer is very slightly misshapen.

    English c.1720.

    Dimensions: Length 35.8cm. Diameter of skimmer 7.2cm.
