About this item
A very attractive Baroque style mirror, dating to around the late 19th century. This small mirror probably originated in France. The frame is made of heavy cast brass and is relief moulded with foliate scrolls and swags, with a winged putti mask at the bottom. At the top are two flaming torches with a blank cartouche in the centre. It has its original bevelled plate, with minor spotting to the silvering. The back of the mirror is covered with a metal plate. There is a loop at the back for hanging, and it may also originally have had a prop to allow it to stand.
