    About this item

A pair of WWI trench art vases, made out of brass shell cases. They are decorated with embossed birds perched on cherry laden branches, with geometric borders above and below. The surface of each vase has a textured finish. The bottoms of the shells bear the manufacturer's marks and show 1917 as the year of manufacture. The base of each vase also bears the hammered letters OT, presumably the initials of the soldier who worked these pieces.
