About this item
A small Victorian brass dog collar with a brass trick padlock that opens without a key. The collar is made of sheet brass with rolled edges and is half lined with red leather. It is adjustable to three different sizes, but is for a fairly small dog. It comes complete with its original padlock. This opens by pushing one of the vertical bars slightly to one side, whilst pulling the top shank up - a bit fiddly but it still works. Neither the collar nor the lock bear any manufacturer's marks but they are possibly French and date to the late 19th century.
The collar will fit dogs with a neck measurement of between about 25cm and 30cm.
