About this item
A rare 16thc Bronze "Apothercary" Skillet ....I have only once before seen such a small Skillet (at the BADA Fair in London, for well over £4,000.00) and this is such a good example with the early form of "hoof" foot, rounded belly and the six sided handle, where you would place a cooler piece of metal up the shaft to remove it out of the down hearth fire....it has gained a lovely patination and is a real little gem...!
Continental - Probably German. C1540-60.
