A Pair Of French Bronze Wax Seals, C 1850
This exquisitely made pair of his and her bronze seals were made in France in the mid 19th century and are modelled on a medieval young man and woman dressed in full period costume. The quality of the modelling and casting is superb and is further enhanced by the fine detail which has been hand engraved and chased onto the figures.
These lift-off their stands to reveal the seals underneath which have never been personalised with any engraving. Please see the photographs.
A rare and highly collectable pair of bronze wax seals in very good condition. These would look really nice on an antique desk.
