About this item
An unusual and very finely cast bronze door knocker, made in Italy in the early 20th century. The strike plate features a foliate design round a central plate, with a tiny flowerhead above this. The hinged knocker features a chunky central knop for good knocking power. The back is marked 'Italy'. It is a sturdy piece with good, crisp casting. The bronze has an attractive aged patina. The knocker has two bolts to the back.
