This is a small antique posy vase. A Chinese, bronze decorative flower urn, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Delightfully tactile and sought after Oriental taste. Displays a desirable aged patina - some small historic marks under close inspection. Bronze body presents natural tonality with contrasting lighter golden tones to the relief scenes. Attractive flared rim stands proudly above the whole.
The neck decorated with beading and foliate detail around the circumference. Eye-catching dragon relief with superb scale detail and dynamic character. Iconic phoenix to the reverse boasts decorative plumage detail. Conical stand accentuated with beaded pattern replete with maker's mark to base.
