This is an Anglo Saxon silver penny of King Æthelred II, minted in London by the Moneyer GODWIN.
Obverse +ÆĐELRÆD REX REX ANGLOX (Aethelred king of the English) Bare-headed bust left, in front trefoil, tipped sceptre, legend surrounds.
Reverse +GODǷIN M-O LVN. (Godwin Moneyer of London) Voided short cross with CRUX in angles.
It is a nice bold and well-struck example, though has a flan crack and a few peck marks from circulation in Viking held territory.
