About this item
A very rare Victorian gold Scottish granite brooch. Although unmarked it was probably made in Aberdeen around 1860. The granite body is made up of gray Aberdeen granite from Rubislaw quarry, the pink granite cross is from Correnie quarry in Aberdeenshire. Gold granite brooches are exceptionally rare. This one is beautifully made with hand cut stones and crisp engraving. This would look great on green or brown tweed.
