About this item
Sterling silver wreath shaped brooch made by William Hair Haseler, hallmarked "WHH" with the assay and date mark 1902.
The brooch bears the initial "SPS" which stands for " sine prole superstite" (Latin meaning without surviving issue). Referring to someone without a surviving heir.
In very good condition throughout with some garnishing of the silver on the reverse. The maker's mark and other hallmarks are very clear.
