    A very good and substantial early 19th century 2 part Dutch marquetry bureau of bombe form and fully oak lined. The mahogany ground having superb marquetry inlay throughout. The serpentine shaped fall having 2 marquetry baskets of flowers in exotic timbers and mother of pearl set within satinwood “C” scrolls. The fall opens to reveal a wonderful inlaid interior consisting of a small central cupboard with drawer and shelf interior between 2 turned columns with brass capitals.The interior is completed with 2 banks of 5 shaped drawers all with further floral marquetry and brass pulls. The exterior having 4 shaped and graduated drawers with floral marquetry inlay and retaining all the original brass handles and escutcheons.The marquetry canted sides joining a shaped and inlaid frieze with attractive applied mouldings and the whole raised on hairy ball and claw feet. The ends decorated with  baskets of flowers and butterflies, the lower section having a marquetry urn with flowing flowers.
